FIRE DEPARTMENT NEEDS VOLUNTEERS! The Fire Department is always looking for new members. They are looking for men and women to serve as active firefighters. They can also use help with administrative, fund raising, fire prevention and public relations events. Boys and girls 16 years of age and older can join as Junior members. As Juniors they can begin to work on their basic firefighting skills, and assist in fund raising, fire prevention, public relations, and providing support services on the fireground. Currently there is a shortage of Special Fire Police officers. These members support the Fire Department by directing traffic at the scene of fire calls. They also assist the Police Department with traffic control at the scene of vehicle accidents. The Fire Department provides all of the required equipment and pays for training--volunteers provide their time and dedication.
